Better Late Than Never

Before we moved I had a Christmas Advent Calendar in the works and a burlap Christmas tree waiting on the side lines. I was able to go through some of my craft boxes and found them again and decided I wanted to finish them. The burlap tree was a craft day project that I didn't get to do because I was in charge of my teaching at my own craft table. The lady told me to just do a search on pinterest for DIY Burlap Christmas Tree. Well I did....and got about 5 different ideas. So I kinda took all those ideas and my own and just winged it.
So I used a Styrofoam cone covered in paper, I was suppose to cut 3" squares of burlap, I actually cut them a little larger and ended up regretting it.
Glue the squares into triangles, they don't have to be perfect, in fact I found the less symmetrical they are the better.
With hot glue you glue one of the ends of the triangle onto the cone in any pattern you would like. All the way up the cone.

At the top I added pine-cones, but you can add a star, burlap bow, whatever you would like. I think it turned out ok, but because I rushed through this so quickly and didn't take the time I needed to be careful and precise I am not as excited about the results as I would have been. I think I am going to try this again but not rush through it and maybe even try a different method.

The advent calendar that I did I really LOVE! I think it turned out beautifully and I am very pleased with it.
