Halloween Goodies

More Halloween goodies that I made. :) It has been so fun doing all these creative things. I have really enjoyed it. I love pumpkin seeds. So this year I decided to  roast some pumpkin seeds.

my little girl helped me take them off the paper towels after they dried and put them on the pan. I put olive oil in the pan then the seeds then butter and sprinkled them with garlic salt. They turned out really good. I ate so many after they were done that i got a little sick. :p.

Today I had a small Halloween party for my Activity Days girls. I told them about the origins of Halloween and the Jack o Lantern. We bobbed for apples and played Halloween bingo. I made graveyard and Frankenstein pudding for them too.
The graveyard is chocolate pudding with crushed oreos and a gummy worm. the tombstone is a milano cookie. I wrote different things on the tombstones with chocolate frosting. The Frankenstein is vanilla pudding died green with crushed oreos on top then I just drew a Frankenstein face on the cup. It has been really fun making all these goodies. :)

Cake

I have found my crafty side again. :) I dont know if it's the halloween season or what but it's been fun. This past saturday we had a family party and I was asked to bring a dessert. So I decided to make a cake. At first I wanted to make a tombstone cake. But after I cut the cake I didnt like how it turned out. So I changed it from a tombstone to a whole cemetary. I am really happy with how it turned out. Especially with how limited I was on supplys.

Blocks

So when you are finishing a basement and  go down to look for something and see this in the corner...
What do you do? Well you craft with it of course. :) Every year when the holidays roll around we like to try and add at least one new decoration to our collection. Well this year we havent had a whole lot of money so I saw this as a good opportunity. :) I started off with the idea of 3 blocks But I found a stand that I could screw the blocks into and decided to add a third block due to the length of the base board.
I started with a normal pumpkin face but thought it would be fun to go a little more cutesy
I used some gauze to wrap my mummy and vola done. :) I still need to find a stem for my pumpkin and I would like to add bolts to frankenstein but here is what it looks sitting on our table. I had a lot of fun making this. Last night my friend Karen came over and she wanted to make a set too. So we went got some wood that she liked from the basement and got to work. It was a lot easier the second time around and the kids kept themselves occupied so we oculd focus on our craft and we were able to get it done in one night. here is hers...
She wanted her mummy to be a girl. So we added eye lashes blush and a cute flower. We both really like how she turned out.

Photography Skills

I have been working on my photography skills. Now that I have a decent camera I feel like I can get some really good shots. Here is some of what I have done.

So far this is what I got. These are not edited yet. I used settings on my camera. I am currently working on editing some and as soon as I do I will post those. :)
