Button Letter

Sorry that I haven't posted for awhile. I am back in school so the time to craft and do other fun things like that has been reduced by quite a lot. :) But this past week I was starting to get tired of how empty the walls are in my little girls room. So I decided to make a button letter for her. First I was going to do a simple one either on paper or sew them on fabric. but I found this cute wooden letter and thought it would be just as cute. I knew there was going to be some empty spots where you would see the wood so I decided to use scrapbook paper to cover the wood.
looking back now I wish I had just painted the wood pink instead. After I got the paper glued to the wood I used a fine sandpaper to sand down the rough edges on the paper. Then I started to sort out the pink buttons from the others and started to place them.
At first I used wood glue and I was picking each and every button very precisely. I blame this on the time I was doing this as well as the long day. When I finally came to my senses I switched to hot glue and I put a pile of buttons that I liked next to me and started to place them at random. Time went by much quicker and I think it was looking better then trying to place every button in it's specific spot.
 and walla done. :)
I really liked the way it turned out. The only thing I would change is that I wouldn't use scrapbook paper but paint instead.
